Soon Melbourne Will Be “Wasting Away In Margaritaville” Without Leaving Town

Margaritaville Landing and Riverwalk was unanimously approved at Melbourne City Council’s first reading. Mayor Paul Alfrey says Melbourne’s Margaritaville will follow a low-impact development standard that includes strict stormwater management to control runoff through an underground vault system under the parking garage. The large event lawn will be made of artificial turf with French drains and nutrients harmful to the Lagoon will be retained on site. Built to withstand category 5 hurricanes, the 221 boat slips will include a marina store and an electric boat charging station. The hotel will include 146 rooms, multiple restaurants, a panoramic rooftop bar, and a pool area with a tiki bar. There will also be a 4 story parking garage. The project will have a second and final reading at the next Council meeting on June 14th. AFter that, construction will begin immediately.
