Mother Arrested after deputies say she forced kids to drink bleach… One dead

In Osceola County, a mother who deputies say forced her children to drink bleach and choked one of them has been charged with premeditated murder. The death of 36 year old Joanne Zephir’s 3-year-old was caused by “compression of the neck.” The whole investigation began after a family member called authorities on May 8th, saying Zephir was in the process of forcing her 3-year-old and 8-year-old daughters to drink bleach at Poinciana Pentecostal Church in Osceola County. When deputies arrived they found all three passed out. The 8-year-old survived. Zephir is charged with attempted murder and aggravated child abuse, and she is behind bars in the Osceola County Jail, where she is being held without bond.
