Gunshot In Sebastian Lands Man In Jail

An accidental gunshot in Sebastian resulted in one man being locked up behind bars. Last Sunday night around 9, Sebastian Police got a report of gunshots north of the Tiki Bar & Grill. Officers arrived to find a couple who said they were walking along Indian River Drive near the Main Street boat ramp, when they observed a scuffle between two men in the parking area… then heard a loud bang. They say one of the men then left the area and entered the Tiki Bar & Grill. They then identified the man who was standing near the bar. He was 33 year old Blake Jacobson, who police say exhibited signs of intoxication. Upon questioning, Jacobson explained to police that he had engaged in a physical altercation with a friend named Kenny. When questioned about the firearm, Jacobson said he was unaware the magazine was loaded. He told the officers that he carried the 9mm weapon in his backpack. Officers found it there, and then learned that Jacobson did not possess a Concealed Weapon Permit. He was taken to the Indian River County Jail, with bond set at $6,000. Now, he is facing charges including Carrying a Concealed Firearm without a permit, and Using a Firearm While Under the Influence of Alcohol.
