deadly fungus

Well, this isn’t the kind of thing we want to have to talk about, but it’s something we need to pass along this morning. According to the CDC, a deadly fungal infection has been detected here in Florida, and it’s apparently spreading at an alarming rate. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says a deadly fungus spreading in hospitals and medical facilities, is targeting people with serious health conditions. The fungus kills 30-60 percent of the people who get it and the CDC says hundreds of cases have already been reported in Florida. The fungus is transmitted through person-to-person contact and is especially dangerous when it gets into your bloodstream, where it starts to shut down your organs. The good news is that if you are healthy, you don’t have a lot to worry about.
