A 22-year-old woman from Palm Bay was killed in a three vehicle crash Wednesday morning on US-1. It happened yesterday just after 8am near McCormick Way. Police say the 22-year-old was headed north on US-1 in the outside lane and a van was traveling in the same direction in the inside lane. That’s when police say the woman darted from the outside lane to the inside lane and hit the van, which was being driven by a 39-year-old Melbourne man. The Palm Bay woman then crossed over the median and went into the southbound lanes of US-1, where she slammed head on into a vehicle being driven in the center lane by a 49-year-old Melbourne. The woman died at the scene. The other two drivers were not hurt.
