The Red Cross is now stepping in to assist the families who were impacted by a fire in Sharpes Friday afternoon. While the cause of that fire remains under investigation, it is now believed that a controlled burn may have spread quickly to homes in the area. Five homes were initially reported to have been destroyed, but now authorities say one of them actually had been destroyed in another/earlier fire. Dozens of families were evacuated.
