Man Caught Ripping Off Walmart At The Self Checkout

A man from Vero Beach was arrested after he was caught stealing merchandise from the Walmart store in Sebastian by a store loss prevention officer, who immediately alerted Sebastian Police. Officers say 34 year old Wyatt Guy was tampering with barcodes, which resulted in him paying only $1.00 for each item. Video surveillance footage showed Guy pulling a fuel injector and a backup camera from the store shelves, then proceeding to the toys section, where he picked up a dart board. Using a modified barcode, he purchased all three items for a grand total of just $3.00. Their actual value was $137.93. When confronted, Guy fled. After a short chase, he was finally stopped after crossing the bridge in Micco. Police then learned that Guy was under supervised release at the time, and he was wearing an ankle monitor. A search of his vehicle turned up multiple barcodes that could be used to manipulate the prices of Walmart merchandise, along with drugs and drug paraphernalia. Guy is now in custody, behind bars and being held without bond.
