Brevard Escapee Caught In Volusia County

The inmate who escaped from a Brevard County work camp last Friday has been caught and is now facing new charges. Volusia County Deputies and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force took 22 year old Nathan Barker into custody near New Smyrna Beach. Barker is said to be from that area, and authorities believed that he was headed back to Volusia County after he escaped from the work camp a week ago in Sharpes. Turns out, they were right. Barker was originally serving time after being convicted of possession of methamphetamine, felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and possession of a concealed handcuff key. Now additional charges including escape are being added to his little list of accomplishments.
