A Spirit Airlines flight from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Orlando International Airport made an unexpeced stop in Jacksonville. Spirit flight 259 had to make an emergency landing in in Jacksonville after it was diverted due to what’s believed to be a battery fire from a passenger’s item in an overhead bin. The fire was extinguished while the plane was still in flight. After the plane landed and taxied to the terminal, at least five people were taken to an area hospital. Their injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.
