More Details Released In Brevard Teacher’s Arrest

As we first told you yesterday morning, a teacher in Brevard County has been arrested after investigators with the sheriff’s office caught him trying to lure a child for sex. Today, 64 year old Timothy Liscum of Melbourne, who taught at Satellite High School, remains behind bars in the Brevard County jail. His bond was set at $70,000. Deputies say they arrested Liscum after he traveled to a location in Brevard County expecting to meet a child on Sunday afternoon. He now faces charges including using a computer to solicit a child and traveling to meet after use of a computer to lure a child. Liscum has been with Brevard County schools for the last 30 years. His arrest came after Liscum began communicating through an electronic device with one of the students at the school, and that student became concerned about the content of those conversations and told another student and another teacher. The investigation is ongoing and deputies are now trying to determine if Liscum may have victimized any other children.
