A cruise ship that calls Port Canaveral its home port, rescued 2 dozen migrants at sea as it was returning to the Brevard County port. The MSC Meraviglia was returning from Cozumel, Mexico, to the Space Coast when it encountered a boat in distress Saturday. There were 24 people aboard the tiny boat, and all of them were brought onboard the cruise ship, where they were checked out by the ship’s medical personnel and provided temporary accomadations. When the ship docked on Sunday morning, they all were transferred to the custody of the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations for processing.
