Helicopter Crash In Titusville

A helocopter crashed Sunday morning just before 11:30 at Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville. Just before the aircraft went down, the pilot radioed a distress call… saying he was having engine trouble and was coming in. The helicopter made a so-called “hard landing” and then tipped over onto its side in the grass just south of Runway 9. Luckily, both the pilot and a passenger survived. In fact, they weren’t even hurt. Their names have not been released. The helicopter was moved to a hanger where investigators from the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will look into what may have caused it. According to airport officials, the helicopter was more than likely damaged beyond repair.
