First Of Three Launches This Week Set For 5:36pm Today

The first of three rocket launches this week is set for later today. While we do have some possible showers to contend with today, forecasters say overall, the weather should be mostly favorable for the launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Launch Complex 41 this afternoon at 5:36. A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket will take two commercial communications payloads to orbit, taking an eastern trajectory. If the schedule holds, a SpaceX Falcon 9 will liftoff from Kennedy Space Center’s pad 39A at noon tomorrow with a Crew Dragon capsule taking three astronauts and a cosmonaut to the International Space Station. Then, another Falcon 9 rocket is on the plans to launch on Thursday between 7 an 8pm, taking two more commercial communications satellites into orbit. The first stage will land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
