The National Hurricane Center has now put Brevard County under a Tropical Storm Warning due to Hurricane Ian which is expected to slam into the gulf coast as a major hurricane by early tomorrow. Forecasters say we can expect sustained winds of 30 to 40 miles per hour, and peak gusts at times of 40 to 50 miles per hour. The worst weather along the Space Coast will occur between about 9am Wednesday through about 6pm Friday. Along with the wind, we can expect anywhere between 4 to 6 inches of rain. That rain… added to the already saturated ground… is apt to cause flooding in many low lying areas, and there will also be many water covered roads. Power outages are likely. If you haven’t already done so, today is the last chance you have to bring in or secure any loose items.
