SpaceX Eyeing Next Manned Mission

Hurricane Ian isn’t making planning any easier for NASA and Spacex, but so far the plan still calls for liftoff on Monday, October 3rd for the Crew-5 mission to the International Space Station. The launch is still set for 12:45pm Monday, but if that isn’t possible for any reason, there are other launch opportunities on October 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9th. Next Monday’s launch depends upon the ability of SpaceX to roll out the Falcon 9 and Crew Dragon spacecraft to pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center this Thursday. As Ian draws near though, that is beginning to look iffy at best. The astronauts were originally schedule to land at Kennedy Space Center on Monday, but that arrival was canceled because of Hurricane Ian, and the crew today remains at the Johnson Space Center in Texas.
